To its early members it meant the opportunity to build upon the strong foundation of TRUTH, FAITH, WISDOM and CHARITY. We are reminded of our duties to God, our Country and our fellow beings. The Order of the Amaranth means many things to many people. Our principles and teachings are from the Holy Bible. Our ceremonies exemplify the dignity of a Queen’s Court, therefore our presiding officers are referred to as Royal Matron and Royal Patron. It is still a requirement in most Prince Hall Affiliated jurisdictions and there are many of our members belonging to both Orders.īecause of the “Queenly” origin of our Order, our bodies are called Courts and our members are known as Honored Lady and Sir Knight. The requirement to join the Order of the Amaranth, up until 1921, was that you must first be a member of Eastern Star. Historically, the Order of the Amaranth was intended to be the final degree of three, the first degree being Eastern Star, and the second, the Queen’s of the South. The Order of the Amaranth is a social and philanthropic organization basing its membership on Masonic heritage. It is made to form the apex of the Rite of Adoption, and to establish a COURT OF HONOR, wherein the highest grade of instruction, culture, and usefulness may be imparted, in symbolical guise, to the advanced members of the Rite. ![]() The present independent form of the Royal and Exalted degree of the Amaranth is adapted to the demands of those who are seeking light and advancement. They are urged to portray, by precept and example, their belief in the “Golden Rule” and by conforming to the virtues inherent in TRUTH, FAITH, WISDOM, and CHARITYthey can prove to others the goodness promulgated by the Order. In its teachings, the members are emphatically reminded of their duties to God, to their country, and to their fellow beings.
